The life of a slave

Good bye to my dear native land,

Off on my way to the unknown on the roaring waves,

The company of my kin no more,

The joy and freedom of childhood long gone, long lost,

But now only my tears trickle down all away

Torn apart from my children

Torn apart from my wife and friends

Torn apart from their pamper and compassion

But now only my tears trickle down all way

Now I toil for my bread

Fettered in unbreakable chains ,

Sold like hot cakes,

My pride and self respect long lost,

I no longer understand or seek for the self,

I no longer seek justice

But now only my tears trickle down all way

How can a land so refined let this cruel servitude thrive ?

How can a merciful god let this cruel servitude thrive ?

How can a motherly woman let this cruel servitude thrive?

Reasons fail me every time now

But now only my tears trickle down all the way
